About Us

Hi, my name is Helena, and I own Helena's Bookish Gifts, a small business originating in the UK. I am a twenty-year-old book lover with a passion for reading and sharing recommendations. 

Reading has always been something I've enjoyed. I first got into reading at the age of five and I haven't looked back since. From reading children's books to then progressing to Young Adult (YA) and adult books, I have a large scope of different age ranges and genres under my belt to help me give recommendations to my fellow book lovers.

I started this company in 2022 when I regained back my passion for reading during Covid. I’ve always wanted to own a business, so I researched during Covid about setting up and getting started and since then, I’ve loved every second of my job. Having also been diagnosed with OCD in 2020, I wasn’t able to go into a mainstream job, so this has made me even more passionate about my job and making the business a success. 

I want to make a positive impact on mental health with my business, which is why I have a mental health range so that I can donate proceeds to charity to help those who are struggling and give back to the community. 

I also want everyone to be able to have access to a range of bookish gifts that are unique and different to help them to be able to express their love of reading to others while uniting the reading community.
